Rising

I carried this flower pot
to the coffee room
to water it and to get wet
I saw your brown smile
and something shinning
leaning sideways
hanging out
your chest

and I grew small
    so tiny
and jumped into the maze
inside your shirt

running through the weeds
of scented hair
till I got tired
may have slept for a second
and the rain started
and my feet are wet
you spilled the coffee
I drowned my plant

We're soaked
my legs are shaking

I  must have run so fast.

Lunch

Will you eat with me?

Sure, (why not? I thought)
and then I waited
and ate
one day and the next
fasting on Fridays
brushed and flossed
and fasted
and feasted
and waited
one day and the next
I rinsed
the mist of
awareness
slapped myself
again and again
to make me tight
to make me blush
to wipe
the insult
and bring my honor back
I'm staring at the tea cup
letting go
but right after breakfast
I'm hungrier than before
I don't want to eat you
or eat at all
but to sit
with a meal between us
while your thoughts
in silence
feed me
fuck me
for every bite
that won't reach
your mouth.

Hanging in there
face to face
empty robes
naked fullness
generations of skin
so many blinks
    that stare
